Joanne Barnett - Osteopathy
Joanne Barnett qualified from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2003 achieving a 2:1 in BSc Hons osteopathic Medicine and a diploma in Naturopathy.
Joanne Relocated to Derbyshire where she worked as an assistant for a local osteopath for nearly two years.
In September 2005 Joanne opened the Osteopathy Centre in Cromford, and in May 2009 opened her second clinic at Eyam.
Joanne is registered by the General Osteopathic Council, which is mandatory.
Osteopaths fought long and hard to get recognised, and as such were the first complementary health care profession to receive a statutory regulation. The act was established in 1993 creating the General Osteopathic Council.
The Osteopathic act ensures a very high standard is maintained, registration is achieved by osteopaths who qualify from one of the accredited schools in the uk, and to maintain registration have to under go continuous yearly training of which GosC regulates.
Only practitioners of the highest standards of safety and competency are allowed to register. Proof of good health, good character and professional indemnity insurance is also required.
